Music podcast 周末变奏 Key Change was launched in July, 2020 by Fangzhou, a former radio host at EZFM of China Media Group, China’s national radio network. By the end of 2023, more than 220 episodes have been published, total subscribers of the show has surpassed 65,000 (all platforms combined).
A continuation of his morning radio music show "Music Matters" (2016-2021) which had introduced numerous independent music acts to millions of audience in China, "Key Change" shifts away from upbeat indie rock & pop tunes, presents a wider selection of alternative music, ranging from leftfield pop, ambient, neo-classical to alternative R&B and obscure jazz & funk; many episodes are also developed around musical themes, such as revisiting classic albums and trends, newly emerged artists & labels, and stray observations of popular music in daily lives.
Meanwhile, "Key Change" also invites thriving indie artists from China and beyond to talk about their musical inspirations. Previous guests including "Super Girls (快乐女声)" alumni, Chinese singer-songwriter LXY (李霄云), Taiwanese singer and actress Amber Kuo (郭采潔), Manchester instrumental trio GoGo Penguin, British cellist/singer-songwriter Lucinda Chua, Vancouver-based DJ/electronic artist Yu Su, Hong Kong-Montreal alternative duo Gong Gong Gong (工工工), Taiwan pop rock sensation Fool & Idiot (傻子與白痴) and British rock group Wolf Alice.
